PCM 7th AGM (Saturday, 17th March 2012 @ Naza World)

PCM 7th AGM (Saturday, 17th March 2012 @ Naza World)

On Saturday, 17th March 2012, Peugeot Club Malaysia's 7th Annual General Meeting was held in Naza World's Auditorium (Auditorium Sri Zaleha) courtesy of Nasim. We have roughly more than 22 members including committee members in attendance. We also have one representative from Nasim, Ms. Siti, whom represented on behalf of Mr. Derick Tan and Mr. Yasser.

Basically, for this AGM, there will be no re-election as it is done every 2 years. It's merely a general meeting, discussing on some issues, ideas, sharing of past activities, contributions done by current committees, as well as to presents the Club's account.

However, there's some changes in the committee:
1. President, Mr. Wong Chun Keong is stepping down.
Reason: Due to nature of work which will require travelling out of the country most of the time and will not be able to contribute or join most of the meetings and activities.
With respect to the above, majority of the members agreed. We would like to thank Mr. Wong Chun Keong for his 1 year of service.

2. Current Vice President, Mr. Hazrul Kamaludin, has been promoted to the President position, which he described "forced" promotion, hehehe =P
Congratulations Mr. President!

3. Secretary, Ms. Nurul Farahanna switched her position to Vice Secretary.
Initially, she wanted to step down as she is pregnant (Congratulations!) and will not be able to contribution and commit to the position.
With respect to the above, majority of the members decided and agreed to switch her position to Vice Secretary instead of her stepping down.

4. Vice Secretary, Mr. Andrew (famously known as the "blackdolphin"), wishes to step down with reasons like "Old already", "Backpain", "Backache", "Got Baby", "New Business". Well, obviously, it was rejected, hehehe =P
With the words of wisdom from PCM advisor, Mr. Khairi (aka AbangK), who is formerly the President of PCM; he suggested that Mr. Andrew has done great contributions and is a great quality for planning activities, pushing activities, getting members, but may not be suitable for the role of Secretary or Vice Secretary.
With that, he was demoted as a normal committee, but don't worry, he will always be available and here to support Peugeot Club Malaysia!

5. New Secretary: Kay Hazlin.
Initially, it was a competition between Ms. Kay and Mr. Vinod, with both showing their qualities and what they can contribute to the Club, but similar to Mr. Andrew, Mr. Vinod highlighted that the role of Secretary or Vice Secretary is simply not for him.

6. New Vice President: Mr. Vinod (aka Vinnie)
As suggested by Mr. Basri, it's best for the new President to select the Vice President to ease communication and for them to work together easier. Both Mr. Vinod and Mr. Andrew were short listed by the new President. Mr. Andrew did not wish to hold the position, thus, the position was given to Mr. Vinod.

7. Following the rule of constitution, committee members who did not attend more than 3 times meeting will be requested to step down. With the majority decision, we decided to re-elect new commitees to fill-in the empty position.
7.1 Mr. Andrew (famously known as the "blackdolphin")
7.2 Raja Ali (King Ali aka Lion King)
7.3 Azmer

Final list of latest changes:

President: Hazrul Kamaludin
Vice President: Vinod Rajendran
Secretary: Kay Hazlin
Vice Secretary: Nurul Farahanna
Treasurer: Jack Thum
Auditor: Inbah Rajah

Committee:
1. Andy Ang (Andy214)
2. Carter Wong Chean Far
3. Andrew Leow (famously known as "blackdolphin")
4. Raja Ali (King Ali aka Lion King)
5. Azmer

State Committee remains unchanged.

There we have it, the changes on the new lines of committees. Let's hope these new line of committees will continue to improve and bring more fun and interesting activities to the club.

Additional information for future AGM:
This meeting, there seems to be several tension given to all the committees (seems to be the first time); thus I would like to highlight that for those unaware of the previous elections for the committee, all the committees and position were selected and voted by members in the meeting. Some might be self-volunteer, but final voting is still by members of the meeting. The key point here is, it doesn't matter if you are a committee or not, ANYONE can contribute, ANYONE can organize activities, etc. Perhaps for non-committee members, if they wish to organize any activities, they can speak to any committee members to get help form the club in terms of resources, contacting/getting members, and so on.

As for the committees, we don't get paid, we contribute our time and money, provide our assistance, to help out whatever we can. It may not been recorded or known, as previous activities, committee members contributed foods, drinks, prizes. Some activities, even members themselves contributes. I guess one thing we need to remember is, as what I was told when I first join the club and attended the first meeting, the great words from the President, Mr. Khairi (AbangK); this is not a profit making club and committees don't get paid or given salary, even if you hold the position of President. We try to help and contribute what we can. I completely agree with this statement. It's a club for all Peugeot owners and lovers, a community. It doesn't matter if you are a committee member or not, if you wish to help or contribute, it's always welcome.

To ease the tension and to be fair to everyone, before we judge a person, it's best to know the details and get to know more of the person first. It's common for people to judge from the cover or first impression or from what's been told, it may not always be the case; As an example when I attended the AGM for the first time, how people judged one another and what was the talk around; It is best to understand the whole situation and the person in detail first, and it's a club, a community; it should be a place where we can enjoy and have fun, share information, get help or help someone. Personally, I believe anybody who attend the meeting would want to help and contribute, we all shares the same view, so it should be more about sharing ideas, activities for the club and so on.

With that said, let's hope we will have a pleasant, beneficial and can I say fun? in the upcoming AGM. I believe everyone who attended the AGM comes with the same view, to help, to support, to contribute, there shouldn't be question about each other, it's not a paid job but surely there is reason why a certain member is selected by other members and voted to be part of the committee. Let's all look forward and support, share ideas and contribute in their own way to make the club a better club for every Peugeot owners and lovers.

07/01/12 First pcm405team TT at Wangsa Maju KL

  1. Although there are so many new sophisticated models of Peugeot came into Malaysia but the evergreen Peugeot 405 seems never loose its popularity. With the effort to groom back the 405 community, PCM has created the facebook group pcm405team to reinstate the mood of 405 owner to get the community back active like those days.

Great effort was made by Azmer where the initial intention was just to call 1-2 members but end up with almost 10 cars. The arrival of the members was a bit late at about 11pm but the joy was extended up to 2.30am on 8/1/12 (2 days TT isn't it..)

Well done to pcm405team on ice breaking TT for Peugeot community.

PCM Go Kart Challenge 2011

Subang Jaya - Last Saturday our Lions held a Go Kart Challenge at the Elite Speedway Plus Circuit. The morning was bright and sunny, just a perfect day to race. Event invites can be found here.
We had 14 awesome racers that milk their sweats out to win the top 3 title and of course having FUN is always important!
All 14 were split into 2 teams for practice and then there was the qualifying rounds. Top 7 best times in qualifying round, were separated with the rest for Race 1 (Top 7) and Race 2.
Race 2 results:

Most unforgettable moment during the race was our dear Andrew has a couple of breakdowns, his shoe even tore-out and had to use sandals to race. Haha.. But not to worry.... he won himself a 2nd place!
Race 1 results that won themselves a trophy for 1st, 2nd and 3rd placing.
Here are the TOP 3 trophies... nice kan ? :P
A special thank you to our committee, Andy Ang who make this all a success! For without him, there won't be any race at all. Thank you Andy!

More pictures and videos will be upload from all cameras and vcams of attendees. Check out their Facebook pages.

Do you like the 208 hatch?

Peugeot have released an official 3 minute long video featuring the Peugeot 208 design team explaining how they shaped the bodywork of the newborn B-segment car.
The 208 represents a significant step forward for the French carmaker, those in the know saying that it represents a huge improvement over the model it is going to replace, the 207.

This is very ambitious car for Peugeot, one in which it has very high hopes of being a runaway succes. It’s smaller and yet more roomy than its predecessor, it is over 110 kg lighter and boasts a more modern design packed with features and details that would make it a small-size premium model: LED technology for head and tail lights, a funky infotainment system and chrome finishing for instance. ....
